12. A Touch of Silver

Top: TJ Maxx
Jeans (cuffed): Nordstrom
Wedges: TJ Maxx
Necklace: Forever 21
Nails: Wet n Wild Megalast in the shade Through the Grapevine

Colored denim is huge for spring and summer, and nothing stands out like a classic red. I cuffed my bright jeans into Capris and paired them with a sleeveless blouse. Then, for an extra touch of special silver, I accessorized with a trendy collar necklace. I love this look for breezy summer days!

The Fashion It List--Summer 2012

The Fashion It List--Summer 2012

Designers Remix jersey knit dress, €120

This is my "fashion it list" for summer 2012!

1. Wedges: A great alternative to pumps, wedges give height and fashion without seeming too overdone. They can be worn casually or dressily, and when done right, they are total outfit-makers!

2. Tote Bags: Tote-style bags are both cute and convenient. You can buy a colorful straw one for beach necessities or a bold leather style to stroll around in the city, but you cannot go wrong with the newest styles that combine the best of both worlds! Showing off this trend, the bag featured in the middle is predominantly straw, but it has leather accents, as well as hardware, so it can be easily transformed from day to night or beach to work.

3. Maxi-dresses: This summer, maxi-dresses will once again take over the fashion scene. These have been in style for a year or two now, and they definitely aren't ready to leave the spotlight.  With the way they billow in the breeze and highlight fabulous arms, who could blame them?

4. Crop Corsets: These bustier-style tops are so fresh and fun! They are perfect for a summer concert or festival. I would pair one with high-waisted denim shorts or a bright, high-waisted circle skirt!

A Summer Breeze: Styled Outfit

summer outfit

Lace corset top, $45
H m jacket, £25
Glamorous winter white skirt, £16
T strap shoes, $18
Oasis mini handbag, $36
Filigree jewelry, $32

Summer: it is a season of true bliss, composed of the hot sun, cool breeze, and grass between my feet. The outfit I styled encompasses all of this flowery, warm summer love.

This outfit is ideal for many occasions. Wear the floral skirt, white top, and bright sandals to a day festival or concert, and throw on the blazer and earrings for a night out. The brown saddle bag adds a touch of vintage spirit, as well as practicality, and the earrings add a dash of sparkle.

Each piece of my outfit is pretty affordable, and there are even less expensive, similar items in many stores. For example, if you are not really a coral-blazer-and-yellow-sandals type of girl, you could easily substitute in a black cardigan and some dark pumps. Or for a more casual vibe, a denim jacket and Converse Hi-Tops would look just as cool. Whether you go out and buy these exact pieces, or you mix them with the items gracing your closet right now, this outfit truly captures and embraces the summer feeling.

I also love this outfit because it encompasses so many trends, but it still does not look too overdone. Blazers, corsets, lace, and floral prints were spotted walking down many Spring Fashion Week runways, but this mix of them looks fresh—almost as fresh as that crisp summer breeze.
