New York Fashion Week S/S '13

This past week, September 6-13, was Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. Dozens upon dozens of designers, new and noteworthy alike, were proud to present their Spring-Summer 2013 Collections.
This post features a sampling of some of the amazing collections, along with brief summaries of the trends seen in each designer's work.

Kate Spade took her collection to a different decade with 1950s throwbacks.
Bright colors were everywhere, and the looks were fun and carefree.

Chris Benz played with colors, whites, prints,
and lots of layering.

3.1 Phillip Lim had a bit of a rock 'n' roll vibe,
plus some pops of color and denim looks.

Christian Siriano dealt with lightweight fabrics
in pastel colors to create flowing, soft-looking silhouettes.

Prabal Gurung used strong, bold colors to make several
drop-waist dresses, as well as silky pant and short outfits.

Erin Fetherston featured gorgeous looks
with feminine, glamorous styles.

Rachel Roy's collection was very modern in style
and included prints and bright colors.

Peter Som incorporated floral and chevron prints,
while using predominantly light colors.

Charlotte Ronson mixed soft, delicate fabrics
with hard touches like leather and plastic.

Carolina Herrera showed off chic dresses galore,
mostly in shades of light blue and bright orange.

All of the collections at Fashion Week were great--which designers' collections did you like best?
